BYOB—Be Your Own Boss: Resources for Minority Women Entrepreneurs
Join Small Business Majority, New Covenant Community Development Corporation and the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council to celebrate Women's History Month in March 2018.
Women now own nearly 10 million small businesses in America that contribute significantly to our economic vitality and four in 10 businesses are owned by women of color. Despite this progress, women, especially minorities, continue to face challenges in starting and running their businesses, such as access to capital.
To address this issue, minority women who are small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to attend a roundtable on Tuesday, March 20. This roundtable will include an interactive presentation, peer networking and an armchair chat with a minority, female business owner where we’ll discuss financial security and funding options to start and build a scalable business. Small Business Majority will also introduce SimpleGrowth, a new lending tool that connects Chicago-based businesses to local financing and educational resources.
Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. Space is limited to aspiring and current women owners with confirmed RSVPs. To register, visit https://byobw3-20.eventbrite.com.
These roundtables are part of Small Business Majority's “BYOB—Be Your Own Boss” women’s entrepreneurship roundtable series.
