NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund

The fund is providing no-interest loans to New York City nonprofit organizations working in the human services, with particular interest in those supporting essential healthcare, food delivery, homeless services, workforce development, educational support, and early childhood education, and arts and culture.

Los Angeles County Department of Workforce Development

L.A. County Employer Assistance Grant Fund

WDACS will use a portion of the funds to provide grants to qualified businesses within LA County that demonstrate significant economic hardship as a result of COVID-19 in order to help them retain workers and remain in business during these challenging times. Applications open April 8 and close on April 15.

State of Washington

Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grants

Governor Inslee is offering a new Working Washington Small Business Emergency Grant program to assist small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Up to $5 million in funds are provided through the Governor’s Strategic Reserve Fund and administered by the State Department of Commerce. The grant program will provide a limited number of businesses in Washington’s 39 counties with a grant up to $10,000.

Arts for Illinois Relief Fund

The Arts for Illinois Relief Fund provides financial relief to workers and organizations in the creative industries impacted by COVID-19. Microloan Program

The city of Fresno is offering a microloan program for businesses that have been shut down or otherwise impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. The no-interest loans could be forgiven after a year if the business continues to operate. Deadline to apply is April 12.

IDCEO - Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity

Hospitality Emergency Grant Program

To help hospitality businesses make ends meet in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, DCEO is launching the Hospitality Emergency Grant Program with $14 million drawn from funds originally budgeted for job training, tourism promotion, and other purposes. Grant funds are available to support working capital like payroll and rent, as well as job training, retraining, and technology to support shifts in operations, like increased pick-up and delivery.

Business Continuity Loan Fund

Invest Atlanta has established a Business Continuity Loan Fund (BCLF) with $1.5 million of funding from the City of Atlanta. The fund will offer small businesses zero-interest loans to address a lack of working capital and cash flows as a result of reduced consumer demand, the ability to fulfill product or service orders and other economic conditions.

LISC - Local Initiatives Support Corporation - Los Angeles

Verizon Small Business Recovery Fund

Thanks to a $2.5 million investment from Verizon, LISC is offering grants to help small businesses fill urgent financial gaps until they can resume normal operations or until other more permanent financing becomes available. The funding will go to make grants of up to $10,000, especially to entrepreneurs of color, women-owned businesses and other enterprises in historically under-served places who don’t have access to flexible, affordable capital.

There are several loan options for businesses affected by COVID-19. To get started, it is recommended that potential borrowers sign up as a client with SBDC online. Once registered, borrowers may call the SBDC at (562) 938-5100 to set up an appointment with a business advisor who will assist with navigating the loan application process. If individuals have an active loan with the City, they may qualify for a deferred payment arrangement.

The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment has crafted emergency rules regarding paid sick leave. Under the emergency rules, employers in specific industries are required to provide up to four days of paid sick leave. This rule only requires pay up to the four day waiting period for virus testing, and does not require employers to replace wages in the event of a positive test.
